Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th February 2003

This evening, nine team members, led by our Training Officer, Ann Shaw (an unlikely choice given her complete fear of all things with rotors or wings attached – but in fairness only when they take off with her on board!) journeyed to BAE Systems Warton aerodrome, near Preston, to visit the Lancashire Constabulary Air Support Unit. They were made most welcome by the duty crew of what we know as “Oscar November 99”, and given a very full insight into the workings of the ASU.
This was the first time we’d had a really good close look at LANCON’s new helicopter, a Eurocopter EC135, registration G – LASU, with it’s distinctive fully shrouded tail rotor design. Our thanks go out to the duty crew for their hospitality during our visit.
