The Team Leader was contacted at 01:35 hours with regards to the team assisting LANCON with an urgent search for a missing 59 year old Darwen man. Our DTL along with 2 SARDA dogs (from our colleagues in RPMRT and BPMRT, our dog team being unavailable) commenced an immediate search in specific areas of Darwen, joined at first light by 14 Bolton MRT members. Intensive searches were made of Sunnyhurst Woods and Earnsdale Reservoir areas, alongside LANCON resources including their Air Support Unit (ON99), Operational Support Unit, Mounted Officers and two missing person search managers. Despite the best efforts of all involved, by late evening the search was called off with Police enquiries continuing (the following day the Police Underwater Search Unit were scheduled to search local water bodies).
