At 17:23 GMAS requested the team to assist with the report of an unconscious casualty in an off-road situation, in woodlands in the New Springs area of Wigan. A very quick initial response was made by 2 of our team landrovers from our base, which was manned at the time. Other team members responded directly.

Our first vehicle arrived on scene to RV with the responding paramedic response vehicle and emergency ambulance, whereupon it was discovered that the person reported as being unconscious was now walking and refusing any medical attention, or to give any details to the GMAS personnel on scene.

Other team members were subsequently stood down responding.

Our thanks are extended to local children who guided us to the location and acted as roadside marshals for our responding members.
