Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

19th November 2006

In the middle of late evening, this Sunday, the Team was paged by NWAS (ML) Control which was immediately answered by our TL.

He established that we were stood down even at this early stage, NWAS having contacted us as a precautionary measure regarding an incident they were attending at a remote access moorland farm in the Smithills area of Bolton. The responding NWAS crew had established that the person they were responding to for a serious medical emergency had unfortunately died and the Team’s resources to assist NWAS at this farm incident were not required.

This incident has not been recorded in the Team’s statistics, but as with other calls of a similar nature, is recorded here to illustrate the excellent working relationship we have NWAS (Belle Vue Control) and their promptness in contacting us for any situations they feel we may be of assistance.

A full pager stand down call terminated the response already being made by some members to collect Team vehicles.
