Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

9th February 2007

On the 18th December 2006, the team responded to a call from GMP to assist in the search with a missing 12 year old girl in the central Wigan area. An immediate team response was made but fortunately the young girl, after being missing overnight was found safe and well as our first team members arrived in Mesnes Park, in Wigan to join considerable police resources both deployed and deploying.

Today we received a £100 donation on behalf of Greater Manchester Police, Wigan Division with regards to our involvement in this search. A kind letter enclosed with the donation stated, “on behalf of GMP, Wigan division, I would like to offer thanks for thorough and professional service you provided, and please accept the attached donation as a show of appreciation.”

Greater Manchester Police at a force level provides us with essential insurance cover and with our comprehensive radio system. At a local level we often receive kind donations of this nature from divisional resources. We would like to record our thanks to all officers in GMP for their support of the team in all ways.
