At 00:04 our vehicles BM2 and BM3 with 7 crew on board, whilst checking out some abandoned vehicles in the Georges Lane area leading to Winter Hill, were called by NWAS (GMA) Control to attend a code red call in the southern part of Horwich involving a 2 year 8 months old child reported as having breathing difficulties.

Negotiating icy and sleet covered roads our first vehicle was on scene at 00:19 with the second arriving at 00:21, with care rendered to the young child until handed to an NWAS (Lancashire area) emergency ambulance which then transported the child to Royal Bolton Hospital.
