17th March 2007

As in many previous years, today our team navigation experts, experienced team members Andy Ryding and Dave Sarti gave a much valued navigation training experience to the new intake of Voluntary Rangers operating under the Croal/Irwell Valley Ranger service, including members of Bolton, Bury and Salford Countryside Ranger Services.

Starting at 09:30 in the morning and finishing late in the afternoon, Andy and Dave took the new Rangers onto Smithills Moor, where they practised the intricasies of moorland navigation.

The team welcomes this link with the local Countryside Ranger Services.
