Whilst team members were on standby at our Ladybridge Hall base during the previous Peak Demand assistance, at 18:34 NWAS asked one of the team vehicles to respond to the report of a 15 year old male who had fallen from a rope swing in the Little Lever area of Bolton.
As the particular area is well known to the team (from a number of past incidents involving people who have suffered injury in the difficult-to-access area surrounding the Manchester, Bolton and Bury canal & River Irwell), two vehicles responded and a full team standby was issued in case a protracted carry out was required.
With the first vehicle arriving on scene at 18:47, happily the team (and the vehicles) were no longer required at this incident, as the casualty had been assisted by his father and had been taken to hospital just prior to our arrival.
