Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

20th May 2007

Today team members provided standby rescue cover at the annual sponsored Rivington Pike walk, organised by Horwich New Heart Club, to raise money for the New Heart Appeal. 100 people took part in the event following a waymarked course from Rivington Hall Barn, to Rivington Pike & return.

Sunshine amd a slight nip to the air greeted the walkers and its nice to report all successfully completed the walk. 26 team members were directly on hand in 4 team vehicles, to provide cover with others available via pager if required, but the team’s services were not needed, well apart from a bit of dog sitting of a Chitzu, who had been left behind by their owners.Dog & owners were quickly reunited when the owners got home and realised their dog was missing !

The team is grateful to Horwich New Heart Club for a donation of £50 following our involvement in this year’s event.
