Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

7th June 2007

This evening the team provided Standby Rescue Cover for the inaugural running of the Henderson’s End Fell Race, presented by Lostock Athletics Club and Walsh.
The event took in a course on moorland tracks and footpaths centred upon Winter Hill, starting and finishing at Rivington Hall Barn.

The Junior Race (1.8 miles, 200 feet of ascent) attracted thirteen runners, whilst the Senior Race, approximately 6 miles long took in 800 feet of ascent, attracting 63 runners.

In total 35 team members attended, including two Support Group members, who provided a full evening meal from our Catering Trailer, as most members arrived at the event staright from work.
In excellent (for us at least) hot sunny weather, all runners finished the course without incident.

We understand the proceeds of this event will go to the Autism Department at Ladywood Primary School and to our Team.
