Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

11th June 2007

Today at 13:28, NWAS (Greater Manchester Area) Paramedic Emergency Control paged the team regarding a peak demand situation developing in certain districts of the Greater Manchester Ambulance area, requesting any assistance the team could lend in the late afternoon period, when the situation was expected to peak.

Arrangements were made to deploy 2 team vehicles commencing at 17:30, should the situation remain as it was when the team was first contacted.

In the event, 3 team vehicles were made available, responding in total to 9 incidents, made up of 3 code greens, 2 code ambers, and 4 code red calls, in the Wigan and Bolton areas.

During this time, a fourth team vehicle was held in reserve with a response crew to act as an immediate responding vehicle should a Mountain Rescue type call come into the team.

In total 12 team members were involved, commencing at 17:30 with the last call taken at 20:31. By 23:00, our Ladybridge Hall base was closed down with all vehicles returned to their garages, kit replenished, and incident reporting paperwork completed.

Brief details of all of these calls can be found on our Incidents page. The team extends its usual thanks to the controllers at Belle Vue Paramedic Emergency Control who acted as despatchers for the team and to the many NWAS (GMA) Rapid Response crews and Emergency Ambulance crews who so readily accepted our joint working.
