Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd June 2007

Held to coincide with the Horwich Carnival, Horwich Fire Station held an Open Day today, to showpiece the workings of the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

A variety of Fire and Rescue Appliances were on display including the new GMFRS Rescue Boat, special Incident Tender and an Aerial Appliance.
A team vehicle was also present, illustrating the joint working arrangement we have with the Fire and Rescue Service, with four team members on hand including our Deputy Leader Geoff Seddon, to explain and demonstrate our team search and rescue equipment on display.

The invite to attend came from the current GMFRS Watch Commander at Horwich Fire Station Glynn McGann, who as an ex team member maintains an informed interest in the team.

During the team’s demonstration at Horwich Fire Station the team members present received a call from NWAS GMA to respond to a nearby road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist (please see Incident report 104 dated today).
