Along with our colleagues in Oldham MRT and Rossendale & Pendle MRT, the Team was requested by GMP, with advanced previous notice, to take part in a preplanned search operation scheduled for today, to try and locate a long term missing 50 year old male in the Haughton Green area of Tameside.
26 Bolton Team members made themselves available this morning and assembled at the search rendezvous within the Tame Valley, Gee Cross area of Hyde.
9 Rossendale & Pendle MRT members, alongside 12 Oldham MRT members also attended, with all the Teams being supported by a Greater Manchester Police Missing Persons Search Manager. A small number of GMP Tactical Aid Unit Officers also took part in the search.
Very shortly after the initial deployment at 11:00 Hrs of the search parties, from all the organisations taking part, the Oldham MRT unfortunately located a body believed to be that of the missing man.
Along with the R&P MRT, we were then stood down to return home, whilst the Oldham Team stayed on scene in direct support of GMP & the subsequent on scene investigation
