This evening the team was saddened to receive the news that former team member Jenny Field sadly passed away aged 57 years on 5th October this year.

Jenny joined the team in the early 1970s and went onto to become a stalwart team member, renowned for her high level of hill fitness and intimate local knowledge of our moorlands.

Serving the team as our Deputy Team Leader for two years from 1980 to 1982, Jenny ended her service in the team as our Call Out contact organiser in the days before we had a pager system and all calls to the membership went via a ’pyramid’ telephone system, within which Jenny played a central part.

Jenny left the team in late 1990, but still kept in touch on an occasional basis throughout the early 1990s.

Her funeral service took place on Friday 19th October 2007 at Smithills Hall Chapel followed by commital at Overdale.

Within the current team call out list membership five team members served alongside Jenny, and their condolances are expressed to Jennys husband Dave, and their two children Jane and Paul.
