Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

4th November 2007

Whilst packing away kit at the end of our tower crane exercise in Manchester City Centre, at 14:32 the team was called direct by NWAS (GMA) to respond to the report of a 68 year old male walker who had collapsed in the area of Crank Hill, Billinge, in fields away from the road.

An immediate response was made by the 14 team members and four team vehicles present on the exercise, with a pager call going out to the rest of the team at 14:38, resulting in a further 12 team members responding.

Whilst on route, we received the news from Ambulance Control that upon arrival, the responding ambulance crew no longer required the services of the team as access to the casualty was easier than had been initially reported, and we were therefore stood down.

In total 26 Bolton MRT members responded, being joined by 1 member of Calder Valley SRT who had been working with the Bolton MRT on the tower crane exercise.
