Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th December 2007

Today we received a very kind £100.00 donation from Greater Manchester Police.
The donation from Divisional Police Headquarters, Ashton-Under-Lyne, came with a very kind letter from Mr Wayne Miller, Chief Inspector, Operations.

The donation arose from our involvement, alongside our colleagues from Oldham and Rossendale and Pendle MRTs, in the search for a missing man in the Tameside area, on Saturday 20th October, this year. (see Incident 139 / 2007)

In his letter, Chief Inspector Miller very kindly stated; “As a service we very much appreciate the assistance you provide in helping us to search and locate missing and stranded individuals in the most difficult and often stressful situations.

He went on to add; “Mountain Rescue plays a vital part in providing a highly specialised area of work, with very high standards of professionalism and skill which are always apparent when we have cause to work together.

The whole team would like to thank Chief Inspector Miller for such kind comments, and Greater Manchester Police for their kind donation.
