Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st March 2008

Today saw the Annual Rivington Pike Fair Celebrations, which have been held for over a 100 years and nowadays involves a small fair, established high up on the slopes of Rivington Pike on Georges Lane.

This fair always attracts a considerable number of people and this year was no different despite the very cold weather and occasional short wintry snow showers.

Lancashire Constabulary maintained a large presence in the Rivington area all day, alongside United Utilities Rangers and Smithills Estate Rangers.

The Team had all four of its Landrover Ambulances crewed and available in the area, with a total of 18 Team members present.

The Team was involved with one incident, see Incident 43/2008.
