This evening during the examinations taking place for our Casualty Care Course and with team members at our base, including our Team Leader. Our TL Garry Rhodes was contacted at 20:17 Hrs by a Greater Manchester Police Inspector in his capacity as a Missing Persons Search Manager, to consult with our TL over a missing person enquiry the Police were dealing with today.
A 53 year old male, was missing in the Daisy Hill area of Westhoughton, giving cause for concern for his well being.
GMP had already conducted initial searches using officers, police dog units & their air support unit helicopter and our TL was contacted to discuss the future direction of this search and the possibility of involving the Team.
During this 15 minute conversation, as sometimes coincidentally happens in these matters, the missing person was located safe and well.
This illustrates the excellent relationship the Team has with GMP Missing Person Search Managers, with regards to their role in dealing with vulnerable missing persons.
