This evening team members provided Standby Rescue Cover for the second year running for the Hendersons End Fell Race which takes in a large circuit of the Rivington and Winter Hill moorlands.

This annual event organised by Lostock Athletics Club attracted on this fine summers evening 19 entrants in the junior race event and 95 entrants in the senior race event.

Thankfully the rain showers immediately prior to the event gave way to warm and very sunny conditions on the event, which unfortunately for ourselves and the race marshalls brought out the local biting midges in their millions.

The whole event was ending without incident when unfortunately one of the female runners involved went over on her ankle. See incident 64/2008.
