This evening, prior to the start of our exercise at Lower House Car Park, Rivington, we were honoured to have as our guests, representatives from the Horwich Carnival Races Committee, who had kindly come along on this very cold and wet Autumn night to present us with a cheque donation following our support of the Sunday June 22nd 2008 Horwich Carnival Races day (see seperate news article dated same).

Councillor Barbara Ronson, in her capacity as President of the Horwich Carnival Races Committee attended along with her husband, Councillor Bob Ronson, and Neil Brown, Chairman of the Horwich Carnival Races Committee.

In the presence of team members gathered for the exercise, they handed over a truely fantastic cheque donation of £500 to team Treasurer, Joanne Stones and Team Chairman Ken Oakes.

The rescue team is honoured to have been invited and associated with this event over the previous few years and looks forward to full participation in the Horwich Carnival Races 2009 events.

Alongside the wonderful £500 charitable donation to ourselves, earier today representatives from the Horwich Carnival Races Committee also handed over to Bolton Hospice a truely magnificent £1000 donation.
