In July this year the team received a large number of donations, totalling £220.00, in the memory of the late Ernest Marsden, who died on 3rd June 2008 aged 84 years old. (see ’news’ article dated Sunday 6th July 2008)
Today the team welcomed on a visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ the sons of the late Ernest Marsden, Brian and Roy Marsden.
Brian lives locally in the Bolton area, whilst his brother Roy was visiting the Bolton area from his Scottish home.
Brians wife Deandre also attended, and all three were welcomed by call out list members Mike Marsh, Elaine Gilliland and Fred Taylor.
During their visit we discovered that the family had decided to make donations to the team in their fathers name after seeing an article on the team in the Bolton News, and believed we were a charity their father would have liked to support given that he enjoyed walking.
All three enjoyed their visit, which included a look around our BM1 Landrover Mountain Rescue Ambulance as well as a tour of our base / HQ.
At the conclusion of their appreciated visit, Roy presented a further donation to the team of £15.00 in his fathers name.
