Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

7th December 2008

Today three of our Full Team Callout members Peter Heeley, Elaine Gilliland and Stephen Kenworthy attended an off road training day, organised by Hummer Extreme in conjunction with Bauer-Millet of Manchester.

Meeting at 11:30 at the Pheasant Inn at Higher Burwardesley, Cheshire, the team had no time to get the wake-up brew promised, heading straight in to the off road course.

After meeting the instructors Neil and Jo from Hummer Extreme, the team headed in to the forest tracks, tackling steep inclines on green lanes, testing the capabilities of a Hummer H3 and Hummer H2 vehicles, with each team member taking turns to learn the skills required for off road driving.

Following the end of the course the team and vehicles returned to the Pheasant Inn, getting the promised brew and to get a debrief of the days activities.

Bolton Mountain Rescue and Peter, Elaine and Stephen would like to thank all at Hummer Extreme, Hummer UK and Bauer-Millet (especially Dave) for the valuable experience this gives our team. Hummer Extreme are also trying to arrange a full day experience for the whole team (operational duties will take priority) in the future.
