Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

6th April 2009

Tonight the Team played host to a visit by Bolton Wireless Club.

Team members Dave Healey, Communications Officer, and Mike Marsh welcomed the members of the club and gave them an insight into how the Team had changed over the years from its origins in 1968 to present day.

Bolton Wireless Club were well behaved and didn’t find the powerpoint presentation too boring – much to the relief of Mike & Dave. They then had a presentation on the latest radio gadget which the team uses, the GPS enabled radios and the MR Map GPS tracking software developed by Dave Binks of Dutton & Furness MRT, together with a quick history of how MR radios had changed over the years.

Mike explains just why it takes three years to learn how to back away the rear of a Land Rover

Then swiftly moving downstairs to the garage, to be shown the Landrover Ambulance and the kit we have, both technical & non-technical.

Dave & Mike were presented with a £25 donation from Bolton Wireless Club, by the Treasurer Ross Wilkinson.

The team works closely with BWC members and also RAYNET on the Pike View Hike, which will be taking place in 3 weeks time this year.
