Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

9th May 2009

Today our Support Group held its first Spring Fayre, at St Mary’s Church Hall, Horwich, and initial reports are that it was a total success.

With Support Group member Johanne Lamb at the helm, our entire Support Group has been organising this event for months, and all turned up today with a multitude of other helpers.

A very wide variety of stalls were on hand to the many visitors, which included a guest visit by the Mayor of Horwich.

It was nice to see a large number of ex team members on the stalls, including Ted Morgan, Daine Blakeley and her mother, Geoff Yates, Gill Leigh, and Mike Williamson.

Towards the end of the afternoon, members from our Call Out list membership visited the Spring Fayre direct from providing standby rescue cover at the Belmont Fell Races, just in time to hear the results of our grand raffle in association with the Spring Fayre. Big thanks to Support Group member Iain Clarkson for organising this.

The Call Out List membership wishes to extend its thanks to the following Support Group members for turning up and helping out with todays event; Team President Bob Hutchinson and his wife Janet, Iain Clarkson, Diane Blakeley and her mum, Howard and Teresa Gilliland, Gillian Gregory, Dorothy Jenkins, Hazel Kennedy and her mum, Johanne Lamb and her sister and her son, Gill Leigh, Ali Shepperd and Tina Tennant.

Even family members were “volunteered” to help, here is Hazel Kennedys nephew, Jordan, and Elaines Gillilands nephew, Justyn, wondering how their aunts talked them in to this!
