Past readers of our website will recall Derek Thomas (and his wife Lisa) being incredibly supportive friends of the Bolton MRT.

Derek and Lisa were also very commited and hard working members of our Support Group in the past and although both left the team for pastures new they have kept in touch over the years and remain valued friends of the team.

Recently Derek gave a presentation to the Thursday Group Ladies of the Farnworth United Reform Church, Kildare Street, Farnworth about his role as a Police Community Support Officer in the local community, and how they work with other organisations and partner agencies.

Following the presentation Derek was given a £15.00 donation to donate to a worthy cause of his choice, as Bolton Mountain Rescue had recently featured in the Greater Manchester Police Forces’ local magazine ’The Brief’, Derek chose to pass the donation to our team.
