Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

15th July 2009

Following on from last Wednesday when two people visited the team with an interest in joining, (they both subsequently put their aspirations to join on hold, having carefully considered the commitment we require with regards to raising their young family), this evening two more interested persons came along to see what we are about.

James Whittaker, aged 21 from Tyldesley, a joiner, and Judith Waltho aged 32 from Horwich, an Occupational Therapist, were both met initially upon arrival this evening at our Ladybridge Hall base / HQ by all the call out list members present rapidly exiting the building to respond to Incident 60/2009! (luckily team member Steve Nelson stayed behind to look after them)

With Incident 60 concluded (or more correctly stood down responding) our Training Officer Andy Ryding gave James and Judith, both keen hill walkers, a very comprehensive overview of the team and our call out list membership expectations. Their visit concluding with them being introduced to some of the other team members present, a quick glance around one of our vehicles and then some team member socialising in the Bobs Smithy public house afterwards.

We now await their return of the teams comprehensive membership application form (in two parts) and if all meets our requirements they will be invited to attend for a short probationary membership period.
