Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

2nd April 2010

The annual Rivington Pike Fair celebrations took place today on Georges Lane, just below Rivington Pike.

The Fair, having been held for over 100 years saw an enthusiastic turn out of people treking from the bottom of the slopes up to the Pike, regardless of the mud and ever-threatening rain clouds.

The team supported the event by having its four Landrover Ambulances, manned by 17 team members who, during the event offered advice and assistance to members of the public and were involved with two separate incidents; see Incident 50/2010, 51/2010.

Also covering the event were Lancashire Constabulary and United Utilities Rangers maintaining a large presence in the Rivington area.
