Today we have received a very generous total donation of £450.00 following our provision of Standby Rescue Cover at this years Winter Hill Fell Race. (See news article dated 14th February 2010)


Race Organiser, Tony Varley, in his letter to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE accompanying this kind donation stated;

“Thanks very much for your team’s assistance in providing safety cover for this years race. This was my 21st time as organiser of the race and I have now decided to stand down and let someone else take over the reins. I very much appreciate your team’s provision of safety cover over the years, and the enclosed donation of £450.00 represents £400.00 from the race itself and a personal donation from me of an additional £50.00.”

The team has been associated with this event since its inception and is honoured to maintain our involvement, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank Tony Varley for his excellent liaison and co-operation with the team over the last 21 years he has been involved with this event.

Next year although Tony Varley has retired from organising the event, he’ll be taking part as a competitor, and we all wish him well on the Winter Hill Fell Race scheduled for Sunday 13th February 2011.
