In late 2008, following the sad death of Bolton CHA Walking Club member Dennis Jackson, the team received very kind donations totalling £1,424.00 in his memory. A plaque dedicated to Dennis Jackson was subsequently placed in our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
At the time we invited Mrs Irene Jackson, the widow of Dennis, to visit our Base / HQ and view the plaque dedicated to her late husband Dennis Jackson.
Understandably at the time Mrs Irene Jackson felt she would like to leave visiting for a while, however she kept very much involved with supporting the team, sending kind donations to us on 28th January and 7th February 2010.
With the gentle passage of time, Irene arranged to visit our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ on Sunday 11th April 2010, which she did in the company of her Son, her Grandson, and a family friend, being met by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, and then being taken around our Base / HQ by our Chairman Ken Oakes.
Ken Oakes showed Irene and her family and friend, the plaque dedicated to her late husband Dennis, followed by a team search and rescue equipment demonstration.
Today we are pleased to announce the receipt of another very kind donation from Mrs Irene Jackson, of £60.00, along with a letter kindly stating;
- “Just a short note of thanks for the welcome and most interesting visit me and my family enjoyed on Sunday 11th April 2010 at Ladybridge Hall. Again a sincere thankyou.”
The whole team would like to thank Mrs Irene Jackson for her kind and continued support of the Bolton MRT, it is very much appreciated.
