This evening sixteen members of Leyland Round Table, including their new Chairman Nick Ormerod, visited our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for a presentation on the work of the team.
Leyland Round Table work in close co-operation with their colleagues (and team supporters) Bolton Round Table, and it was through this association and the fact that many of their members walk and mountain bike in our team area, that they asked to visit us tonight.
On hand to meet them was our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, and long serving and very experienced team Call Out List members Chris Tennant and Mark Scott.
Following an overview of the teams work by Garry, Mark and Chris then demonstrated two of the teams Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances and the comprehensive search and rescue equipment carried onboard.
At the conclusion of their visit all the Round Tablers of Leyland Round Table commented on the interesting and excellent evening they had had, and in particular the insight they had been given to our much wider role than just ’mountain rescue.’
Leyland Round Table have now promised to support our team following their visit, so keep watching the website for news of such in the future.
