Today the team was present at the Oldham’s Estate Family Fun Day held at Barlow Park, Bolton.
Fully supported by Bolton Council and Greater Manchester Police, and with attractions as varied as Birds of Prey Displays, Live Music, a Fun Fair, a Pump appliance from Bolton North Fire Station Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, displays by Bolton Sea Cadets and other local organisations, a climbing wall and food stalls, the rains thankfully held off attracting considerable local interest from nearby residents.
The team had on display all five of our Team Vehicles, our Control trailer and our Search and Rescue Boat.
Alongside this was our Team Display Boards and a team equipment display.
13x Team Call Out list members were present alongside 6x of our Support Group members, from the event start at 13.00hrs to its conclusion at 17.00hrs, with the full sun finally coming out in the late afternoon.
Once again we held our highly successful cake and second hand book stalls (’Any donation accepted !’) which together with general donations by members of the public present enabled us to raise the grand sum of £156.98, but more importantly gave us yet again another opportunity to greatly raise the profile of the team with the public present.
The team would like to thank all involved with this event for the invitation to attend and to pass on our congratulations for such a well organised event.
