Late afternoon and early this evening, Bolton MRT members journeyed to the Edgworth Real Ale festival at the Barlow Institute, Edgworth, Bolton.
Regular readers will know that ERAF (Edgworth Real Ale Festival) have once again this year chosen to support the team though the festival, with us named as a joint charity beneficiary alongside the North West Air Ambulance, and tonight we were asked to present our team rescue equipment and pull some pints in order to support the event.
Bolton MRT sent 13 members along to the festival, comprising 8 callout-list members and 5 support group members. two team vehicles and our SAR boat were also present.
Team member Andy Kench talks to some patrons about the BMRT boat, part of the purchase from 2009 Edgeworth Beer Festival donation
With most of the BMRT fraternity present being women, when asked for a “Old Legover” (Daleside Brewery), they replied either that “there was none left, but we’ve got Brewers Droop!”, or “Certainly sir – and what would you like to drink?!”.
A comical finish to the evening saw the departure of team members in the BM5 minibus – followed by a swift return, as they realised that they’d forgotten team member Ana Toole, who was “accidentally” left behind the bar (a likely story!)
