Potential new team call out list membership applications continue to be received by the team with regards to our November membership intake.
We first advertised that we were recruiting again via our website on September 12th 2010, since which time to date we have received twenty two on line applications and two postal applications to join the team.
The local daily newspaper, The Bolton News, has also advertised the fact that we are recruiting, with most of our applications arising from their three articles to date.
We’ve had applications from a wide spectrum of the community, all with a common interest in hillwalking, or climbing or mountaineering, and obviously in giving something back to their local community.
Potential applicants include a Dental Surgeon, an Arboricultural student, an RSPCA Inspector, an Intensive Care Nurse, Teacher, ex and serving Police Officers and a Student Paramedic.
Of the twenty four applicants to date five are women, and the age range of those applying varies from the youngest at 18 to the oldest at 63.
Most applicants are from the Bolton area, with others from Warrington, Lowton, Leigh, Hindley Green, Edgworth, Haigh, and further afield.
All potential applicants are reminded that it is an essential requirement to be able to attend our weekly Wednesday evening training sessions, as well as to have the flexibility to attend emergency call outs (which after all is our reason for existing!)
Details on joining the team are available within the ’membership’ section of our website, or by clicking on the link on our ’Home Page.’
Potential applicants accepted to join the team as Probationary Team Members after the Thursday evening, November 4th and all day Sunday November 7th Membership Introductory sessions will be expected to commence their training with the team straightaway on Wednesday evening, November 10th at our Ladybridge Hall, Bolton, HQ / Base at 19.00hrs.
