Today four of our Team Callout members, Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, Paul Brain, Chris Tennant and Judith Waltho, with Trainee Team members John Fletcher and Steve O’Hara, in two of our Mountain Rescue Land Rover Ambulances ventured to a frozen and snowy Farnworth to take part in a Community Confidence Day at the invitation of Sgt Steve Baldam of Greater Manchester Police.
Joining colleagues from Greater Manchester Police, the North West Ambulance Service (Greater Manchester Area), Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and the Royal Navy, all were present demonstrating the capabilities of each of the services.

During the day, we raised a fantastic total of £136.36 from passing members of the public, with many stopping to chat with the six team members present.
Bolton Mountain Rescue team would like to thank friend of the team Sergeant Steve Baldam of Greater Manchester Police for inviting the team to this awareness event, and to all the people who stopped and took the time to talk to the team members on this cold and frosty day.
One visitor who stopped to chat was founder team member Glen Atkinson (see also ’news’ article dated Thursday 2nd December 2010, Probus Club of Worsley) who passed on his best wishes to all in the team.
