Regular readers of the website may recall that on Sunday 1st August 2010 a Charity Horse Ride and Fancy Dress Walk took place in order to raise funds for the team by horse riders and staff from Shoreside Farm Yard and Stables, Prestolee Rd, Radcliffe
Today we were invited to attend Shoreside Farm Yard and Stables to receive the proceeds of this Charity Horse Ride and Fancy Dress Walk.
Our BM2 and BM4 MR LandRover Ambulances, alongside our BM5 Minibus attended this charity handover, with seven callout list members, eight of our probationary members, and team friend Paul Lawrence.
At Shoreside Farm, our Chairman Ken Oakes met with Elaine Foster, one of the principal organisers of the Charity Horse Ride and Fancy Dress Walk who handed over to Ken the amazing donation of £865.
Our members present were amazed at this wonderful and thoughtful donation with Ken giving a short address of thanks.
Our members present were then invited to tour the yard and stables at Shoreside Farm, with team member Diane Blakeley’s red team jacket proving very attractive to a nibbling and inquisitive horse called George. Diane (who must always have wanted a pony as a young girl) also fell in love with a newborn foal!
The whole team would like to express its sincere thanks to all the wonderful people at Shoreside Farm Yard and Stables who took part in the Charity Horse Ride and Fancy Dress Walk on 1st August 2010, and jointly raised this fantastic sum of £865.
Elaine Foster at Shoreside Farm Yard and Stables has also asked for a team collection box and mentioned forthcoming wonderful support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team over this next year (keep watching the website for news of such support).
