At 13.41hrs this very sunny and warm afternoon, we responded to a pager call from NWAS (Lancashire) to attend an incident in the vicinity of the moorland hill top monument Holcombe Tower, Bury, with the report of a young girl having injured herself in a fall, whilst in the company of her family.
In a joint response involving our team, Rossendale and Pendle MRT, NWAS (Lancashire) Control, NWAS (Greater Manchester) Control, an NWAS (Greater Manchester) Emergency Ambulance and the North West Air Ambulance ’Helimed 08,’ nine Bolton MRT members attended in two of our new vehicles, (their 2nd day in service, their 2nd Call Out)
By circa 14.15hrs Joint Ambulance / Bolton MRT / Rossendale and Pendle MRT resources had assembled at the base of Holcombe Tower, with NWAA Helimed 08 landing next to the family party involved and treating the eight year old girl’s head injury.
Two vehicles from our team and a vehicle from RPMRT then ascended the moorland tracks to bring down the young girl and the rest of her family party to the waiting Emergency Ambulance.
By 14.36hrs all resources on scene were stood down.
(A further seven Bolton MRT personnel were stood down responding to this incident)
