Through the medium of our website we are issuing an open invitation to all our many valued friends, supporters, former team members, and colleagues, to join us for an Evening Ceremony, to officially handover our three new Team Land Rover Ambulances, bless and dedicate these vehicles, alongside our Minibus Ambulance acquired last year, and our Search and Rescue Boat.
Our existing Bolton Mobile 4 Land Rover will also be rededicated and blessed.
This same evening will also see our three SAR Alpine Lite MR Stretchers officially handed over to the team.
The Ceremony will take place on Tuesday evening, 18:20 for 19:00, May 3rd 2011.
Free Buffet and Drinks provided, at our Bolton MRT Base / HQ within the grounds of the NWAS Headquarters, Ladybridge Hall, Chorley New Road, Bolton. BL1 5DD. (Ample car parking available on site, at the direction of team members)
Our principal guests of honour on this evening are East Lancashire Mark Masons (Donation of £40,000.00 against vehicle purchases), Edgworth Real Ale Festival Committee (£12,000.00 donation funding our SAR Boat and one SAR Stretcher) the Keep Fit Association of Chorley and Leyland (donation of two SAR Stretchers) Bolton CVS (£3,000.00 donation against new vehicles) and Greater Manchester Police (donation of our Minibus Ambulance)
Other (no less important) guests who have confirmed their attendance include Susan Rigby (Recent £1,000.00 donation) Former Deputy Team Leader and ex team members Dave Dorgan and his wife Trish Dorgan, ex team member Andy Ryding, colleagues from Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Lancashire Constabulary, Derek Cartwright Director of Emergency Services, NWAS NHS Trust, Chris Baldwin Community Colleague, ASDA Bolton (£10,000.00 recent donation for new team clothing), Frank Hulton of Frank Hulton Motor Engineers, and representatives of the Ladies Rounders League.
Janet French, Vicar of Christchurch, Heaton, has very kindly agreed to bless and dedicate our vehicles.
Invites have also gone out to our operational colleagues at NEWSART, Cheshire SART, Rossendale and Pendle MRT, Bowland Pendle MRT, Oldham MRT, North West Air Ambulance Helimed 08 / 72, and representatives of the local press.
Unfortunately the Mayor of Bolton is on another engagement this same evening and has sent his apologies.
Due to Parliament sitting this same day, our local MPs, who are all very supportive of the team, have also sent their apologies.
Our Base/HQ will be fully open to all our guests on the evening, where there will be displays of the team past and present, and a display of our comprehensive Search and Rescue equipment alongside of course all of our six current Team Vehicles, Catering Trailer, Control Trailer, Aershelta Equipment Trailer, and SAR Boat Trailer.
Due to the huge numbers of absolutely fantastic supporters and valued friends that the team enjoys and highly appreciates, it is not possible, (As we are sure all will understand) to individually issue a personal invite all who know and so readily help us, to this evening.
Rest assured the invitation list mentioned above is not exclusive by any means, the evening is truely opened to all our many former team members, supporters and friends who wish to attend this very special night for us and our valued guests (however please note this is not a general open night for general members of the public)
Although pre booking is not essential, it would assist us with our catering provision, if those intending to come along who have not already informed us of their intentions, could contact the team via email at tl@boltonmrt.org.uk to conform their attendance and the numbers likely to be involved.
All that remains is for a collective wish for a dry and very sunny evening.
