Former team member Martin Duckworth has contacted the team confirming his attendance at our special evening, and in an email to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, recounted: “Congratulations on your recent successes in achieving a fleet of new vehicles. Oh how things have changed since I was a team member and we were over the moon when we got a redundant Bolton Hospital laundry van which became known as “Squalor” to transport team equipment. Personnel were transported in privately owned Land Rovers which went by such names as Henry, Horace, Harvey, Humphrey etc. We eventually mustered enough cash to buy a somewhat dated LWB series 2A Safari which was kept running for a number of years.
I was a team member from 1969 to about 1984 serving as Equipment Officer then Assistant Team Leader and eventually Deputy Team Leader under Geoff Seddon. Best Wishes, Martin Duckworth.”
Carl Silver, who kindly acts as a photographer on a great many team training and fundraising events (and the occasional Call Out) is also attending.
We are honoured that the now fully recovered casualty from Incident 31, on Good Friday April 22nd 2011, at Cadshaw, Karon Forster is also attending, in the company of her husband Kenny and two children, who were all with her when she had her unfortunate accident.
The Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader of Cheshire Search and Rescue Team, wife and husband, Joanne and Dave Mcclure, and the Team Leader of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team have also confirmed their attendance.
Finally from our friends and supporters at the Bolton Sports Federation Ladies Rounders League, Andrea Finney (Minutes Secretary) and Amy Hare (Committee Member) are attending.
