Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

16th June 2011

Whilst team members were engaged on providing standby rescue cover for the Two Lads Fell Race, our Control Point on Georges Lane, Horwich, was approached by a passing GMP patrol engaged in a search for a missing young boy from the Lostock area of Bolton, believed to have been seen in the vicinity.

GMP requested that team members report any sightings of the boy, in a developing search which also involved the GMP Air Support Unit helicopter.

At the conclusion of our involvement with the Two Lads Fell Race and the incident which had occurred during this event, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, entered into further liaison with GMP, who decided there was no need for further MRT involvement in this search.

This involvement of the team is reported here for information purposes only and is not reported within our Incident listings.
