This evening fifteen team members including our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE and Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon, met up with Firefighters from GMFRS Bury Fire Station, in the Little Lever area, to look at exercise locations along the length of the River Irwell, regards a forthcoming major exercise.
The exercise to be held along the River Irwell from the Radcliffe area to the Nob End, Prestolee area, is being organised by GMFRS, on Saturday 23rd July 2011, and will involve invited major resources from GMFRS, including their Rescue Boat and a USAR Dog Unit, alongside Water / Boat assets from Merseyside FRS, Cheshire FRS and Lancashire FRS, Greater Manchester Police Divisional resources and Specialist Search Unit, possibly the North West Police Marine Unit, and NWAS HART.
Our team is completely involved, with all our operational resources including our SAR Boat, and our Support Group members providing Catering Support.
