Organised jointly by community members and GMP PCSO Matthew Turner, this afternoon community event was held today held in Tiger Moth Square, Irlam.
The event principally aimed at the youth (of all ages) in the area, was supported by City West Housing, with ourselves invited along together with other emergency services.
Present were the GMFRS Kitchen Fire Demonstration Unit (Crewed by Firefighters from Eccles Fire Station and GMFRS Community Officers), a GMP Mobile Police Station, Irlam and Cadishead Youthbank, Salford Youth Services, Community Event First Aid Services and Morris Dancing Displays.
We attended with two of our new Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, full Team Call Out list members Matthew Hailwood and Chris Tennant, and Trainee Team members Philip Crook, Tony Dawson, John Dickinson and David Crawford.
During the event all present displaying were kindly fed by the Great Wok Takeaway on Tiger Moth Square, who then went on in a great show of community spirit, to offer free food to all the youths present at the end of the event.
The team expresses its thanks to GMP PCSO Matthew Turner and local community members for inviting us to attend this event.
