Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th August 2011

Today two of our Bolton vehicles together with 5 team members assisted with the Daytrippers event in the Rivington area.

The Daytrippers is a Bolton based charity which arranges days out for children with disabilities and special needs, together with their parents and carers.

Our two vehicles, BM3, one of our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances and BM5, our minibus, left our Ladybridge Hall base at 12:30 to meet the Daytrippers at Knowle House car park, Lever Park, Rivington.

In total 30 children and adults attended, including one child in a wheelchair.

Everyone set off to walk from Knowle House to Rivington Pike.

Our BM3 vehicle took one gentleman, plus everyones picnic up onto the moorland track of Georges Lane to meet those who had made their way to the Pike under their own steam.

Once everyone had finished their picnic, the Land Rover vehicle descended back to Knowle House through Rivington Terraced Gardens.

The event passed without incident.

Bolton Mountain Rescue Team was proud to be able to offer assistance for this Daytrippers event, and hopes to be able to assist in the future.
