Today for the third year running, the team provided standby rescue cover and shared marshalling duties with our friends from Horwich Rotary Club and the Air Cadets for this years Salomon Rivington Trail Half Marathon event.
Organised by 2:09 Events, the race enjoyed its third year in Rivington, with the route starting at Rivington & Blackrod School.

The route which includes Rivington Pike, takes in a course to White Coppice and back to Rivington, taking in the tracks alongside Anglezarke, High Bullough, Yarrow and Upper Rivington Reservoirs, and the paths of Lever Park, Rivington.

In total this year 356 runners took part in this half marathon race,
In total 29x Full Team Callout members and 4x Support Group members attended this event, together with our four Land Rover Ambulance vehicles, our Minibus and our dedicated Control Trailer.
How many team members does it take to open a gate??
One competitor required treatment from the team at the event finish, but otherwise all went ok in the excellent early autumn sunshine and high temperatures of today. (This incident has not been recorded in our official incident figures and is recorded here for informational purposes only)
