Tonight experienced Team members Gill Leigh and Ana Toole attended the Annual General Meeting of Ladybridge WI. at Ladybridge Community Centre, Bolton.
Gill and Ana were greeted by Linda Blakeley, an associate of the Team for many years, and Chairperson Rhoda Seddon. Following the solemn singing of Jerusalem Ana and Gill were delighted and surprised to receive on behalf of the team a very kind donation for the magnificent sum of £720.00. The majority of this was raised through a Coffee Morning, a Cream Tea and Tea & Cakes.
Team member Gill Leigh swoons after being told just how much tonight’s donation is!
The WI group have requested that the Team purchase a specific item with the donation. (Further details will be posted here once a decision has been made by the team regards such a purchase)
Gill and Ana would like to thank Ladybridge WI for their warm welcome and for this very generous donation, which they ensued to all the Ladybridge WI members will be put to good use.
Team members Ana Toole and Gill Leigh accept the fantastic donation from Rhoda Seddon, President, Ladybridge W.I.
Ladybridge W.I. have been long term supporters of the team. This is at least the second time that Ladybridge W.I. have kindly made a large donation to Bolton MRT. The previous donation was for £745, on the 13th October 2000.
Update
Previously the team has carried crag / quarry / line rescue equipment (Ropes and other items) in three out of its four Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances operated.
With the purchase this year of three brand new Land Rovers, (and the retention of one of our older models) the decision was taken to ’split’ our crag / quarry / line rescue equipment between all four Land Rovers, to add more flexibility to team operations.
This has inevitably necessitated the purchase (on order at present) of additional equipment to ’make up’ four identical sets of equipment.
We have also got on order four new Pulse Oximeters, which measure very accurately oxygen saturation and pulse rate, and is a vital item of team casualty care equipment.
One item to replace a lost pulse oximeter (they are a relatively small piece of equipment), one item to replace a now faulty oximeter and two as ’spares’ holding.
The large donation from our friends and supporters at Ladybridge WI will specifically fund all the above items.
When all the items are delivered to the team, we will be inviting representatives of Ladybridge WI to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to officially hand over these essential items to the team.
