In a novel way to raise funds for the Bolton MRT, staff at the Wigan store of GO Outdoors, took part in a Halloween Fancy Dress fundraising event for the team.
Throughout the weekend of the 29th and 30th of October, shoppers were surprised to see staff donning face masks and fancy dress, instead of their usual GO Outdoors uniform. Whilst serving their customers in a ghoulish fashion, BMRT collection tubs were passed around from werewolf to vampire and were generously filled by the customers at the GO Outdoors store.
In total a fantastic £217.25 was raised over the course of the weekend, which is greatly appreciated by all at Bolton MRT. A huge thank you to all of the staff and customers at GO Outdoors, Wigan, for participating and giving so generously.
GO Outdoors Wigan has strong links with Bolton MRT, with two current serving team members Chris Tennant and Nick Berry both employed there, and former team member John Harold, a member of the team for 4 years from April 2003 now store manager.
The GO Outdoors support of Bolton MRT forms part of the wider national partnership between GO Outdoors and Mountain Rescue England & Wales, which began earlier this year to raise funds for, and awareness of Mountain Rescue in the UK.
