Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st December 2011

Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received a very kind card of thanks and a £25.00 donation from Colin and Julie Brown of Darwen, Lancashire.

On Sunday 27th November 2011 Colin unfortunately stumbled in Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, suffering what was thought at the time to be a suspected leg fracture.

The team along with an NWAS (Lancashire) Emergency Ambulance crew assisted Colin and evacuated him on one of our mountain rescue stretchers to the waiting Ambulance. (Please see website ‘news’ entry dated Sunday 27th November 2011 ‘ Incident 70.’)

In the card to the team, Julie Brown, Colin’s wife states;

“To all the team of Bolton Mountain Rescue. Just to say thank you very much for safely getting my husband Colin Brown to hospital after he fell in Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen. He did break both his lower leg bones and had to have pins and plates. Here is a small donation to the team from a very grateful Colin and Julie Brown.”

The whole team sends it’s thanks to Colin and Julie for their kind words and donation, and wishes Colin a continuing recovery to full health.
