Today at the very kind long standing invitation of the Go Outdoors, Wigan, Store Manager John Harold (A former Bolton MRT call out list member) we were invited to hold a team collection alongside the stores Boxing Day Sale Event.

Taking with them a Team Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance Vehicle and team display material, team call out list members Chris Tennant and Nick Berry, who both also work for Go Outdoors, Wigan, were present to answer the many questions from interested members of the public, and obviously also to collect for the team.

The Boxing Day Sales Event was a great success as was our team collection, with the fantastic total of £405.59p being raised for the team with thanks to the store management for allowing us to collect and of course all the shoppers and visitors to the Go Outdoors, Wigan, Store who so kindly contributed to the team.

One very special visitor to the Wigan Store who noted with thanks and interest our presence, was the Chief Executive Officer of Go Outdoors, John Graham (‘The’ ‘Big Boss’ as described by Chris and Nick) who was visiting the store today on business.

On a national basis for Mountain Rescue England and Wales, Go Outdoors are now actively fundraising in their stores for all the MRTs in England and Wales, a fantastic show of much appreciated support.
