On Monday 2nd January this year we were involved in assisting NWAS (Manchester) with the rescue of a woman, who had injured her knee in a fall whilst out walking with her husband in the Terraced Gardens at Rivington. (Please see website ‘news’ report dated the same)
On Monday 9th January we received a very kind card of thanks and a £50.00 donation from Kevin and Sandra Bennett of Horwich, the husband and wife involved in the rescue.
The card read; “Dear Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, Sandra and I send our very grateful thanks to all team members for the help and support you gave to Sandra last Monday at Rivington.
Sandra was in a lot of pain with her knee injury and we had been there for nearly two hours until you arrived and got us down to the ambulance at Rivington Barn.”
“Without your help and expertise we would not have got down from a very hazardous position and would not have got to the hospital as quickly as we eventually did for the necessary medical treatment.”
“The professionalism of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team is outstanding and we will always be very grateful for your invaluable service. Yours sincerely Kevin and Sandra Bennett.”
The whole team wishes Sandra a speedy and complete recovery back to walking again in the local area, and thanks both Sandra and Kevin for their kind and thoughtful comments and donation to the Bolton MRT.
