This evening very experienced and long serving team call out list member Mike Marsh was accompanied by former team member (and ex Team Training Officer) Andy Ryding, to meet with members of the National Farmers Union, Ladies Section (Chorley) who very kindly wished to pass over a donation to the team.
Meeting at St Peters Church Hall, Chorley, Mike and Andy were made most welcome by those present.
A huge and very appreciated donation of £1,500.00 was handed over to a totally surprised Mike and Andy, who accepted this wonderful gift on behalf of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Here follows an account of the evening from Callout Team Member Mike Marsh.
We were welcomed by the President of the National Farmers Union, Ladies Section (Chorley), Anita Bond at St Peters Church Hall, Chorley.
The National Farmers Union, Ladies Section (Chorley) had chosen Bolton Mountain Rescue Team as their charity of the year for 2011.
Former Team member Andy Ryding and myself gave a brief overview of the teams’ work, before receiving the surprising and fantastic donation of £1,500.
The Ladies were then shown around a vehicle and took interest in what we carried in our Landrover Ambulance vehicles, with particular interest taken in the recently purchased Peli lighting systems.
We would like to thank all from the National Farmers Union, Ladies Section (Chorley)for their kind donation from the whole team membership and for their hospitality on the right.
