This evening full team callout members Gillian Leigh and Dave Marsh travelled to Rivington Church Hall to present a lecture to the Heath Charnock Women’s Institute.
Below is Gillian Leigh’s account of the evening visit ;
On an icy and dark night on Wednesday 8th February, experienced Team members Gill Leigh and Dave Marsh, along with potential trainee water search dog Sasha headed off to Rivington village Hall to give a lecture to Heath Charnock WI.
After a warm welcome, involving judging the photograph competition the two members went on to explain the work of the Team and our commitments in the local area. Sasha took great delight in roaming the room meeting and greeting all WI members.
A special guest attending the evening was Sam the son of one of the WI members. He was soon commandeered to act as casualty, where he was strapped into a vacuum leg splint and loaded onto the vacuum stretcher. Sasha did her best to snuggle in with him!
Next followed a demonstration of more of the Team’s kit including the Bell stretcher, trauma sack and the new Peli light.
At the end of the lecture Gill and Dave were delighted to receive a donation for the fantastic amount of £50.00. The Team would like to thank Heath Charnock WI for their hospitality and their kind support.
